Just in time for national ride your bike to work week I got my bike back from the Andy and the fine folks at Blimp City Bike & Hike. with a geeky new handlebar and a minus a cheezy suspension seat post, this fine machine is all tuned up and ready for many more miles. I ride year round but think that the bike month events are a great way for the cycling community to get the word out.
On Monday I went back to the bike co-op and volunteered for a few hours. They have a checklist that they go through when they prep a bike for sale to make sure everything is in proper working order, safe, and up to date on maintenance. I’m learning a lot about wrenching by volunteering.
Tuesday night I went back to the blimp city bike and hike to have the front wheel from the bike I crashed a couple of weeks ago trued while I went for a 4 mile run on the towpath. Andy, the shop owner, did the work himself and did a great job. The wheel was bent pretty good and he said he got it as true as he could. If there’s an imperfection in the wheel, I can’t tell while riding it. I’ve had great experiences every time I’ve been in Andy’s shop and I can’t say enough good things about it.
Tonight we’re driving down to Columbus to see our freind’s band Southeast Engine play a show. It’s been a little over a year since I’ve seen them and probably 2 or 3 since Lyndsey has seen them. We’re excited. My parents are watching Ella while we’re at the show and we’ll crash in their spare room tonight after the show. Tomorrow I’m helping my dad install a sliding glass door in their family room. Fun!
So what’s keeping you busy this week?
